How to set a secured connection for MAWi

Enable SSL connection for MAWi Server and Agent

Introduction

In MAWi v2 we've added a new option to set the connection with the server and agent over a secured SSL link.
This option is available only if your server is connected to the Internet.
This connection is required to acquire the SSL Certificate.

There are two options to set the SSL connection: Fresh install or Upgrade.

Option 1: Install MAWi for the first time

When installing MAWi for the first time on a new machine, you will see the following option in the installer:

MAWi Agent

This option should be checked for the Agent to connect over secured SSL link to the MAWi Server

MAWi Server

This option should be checked to acquire the SSL certificate and set the HTTPS link in the system.

Once the installation process is done, you will receive the HTTPS link to connect to the MAWi management console over SSL.

The new URL is a combination of your IPv6's and our domain name : mawi.cloud. For example:

The default port number is: 44339

Option 2: Upgrade from older version

In case you've upgraded your MAWi installation from an older version, you can add the SSL connection option after the upgrade was done.

Go to the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Monitors AnyWhere\Common\

Right-click on this file and run it as Administrator:

ConfigureHttps.bat

After the process is done, the following window will appear with the SSL link:

The new URL is a combination of your IPv6's and our domain name : mawi.cloud. For example:

The default port number is: 44339

Enable the secured SSL connection in the Agent side

1. Open the settings of the MAWi Agent:

Right click on the hidden items of Task Bar - Right Click over MAWi Agent icon - Go to Settings

2. Tick the box 'Use HTTPS connect'

3. Change the Gateway port to: 44338
