Secure Web Content Display with MAW Chrome Launcher: Authentication & Credential Management

Managing Authentication and Credentials in MAW Chrome Launcher

Introduction

When displaying web content that requires user authentication (such as dashboards, web apps, or internal portals), MAW Chrome Launcher offers a straightforward process to input and save login credentials,
ensuring they persist across sessions and remote screens.

Notes:
Session Duration: The duration of the saved session depends on the website's cookie policies. Periodic re-authentication might still be needed depending on site configuration.

To enter credentials manually, it's best to perform this step from the Main Display, which provides direct access to interact with the content.

2. Launch the Protected URL

  • Create a playlist or open an existing one.

  • Add the secured URL (e.g., requiring username/password).

  • Set “MAW Chrome Launcher” as the playback method.

  • Drag and drop the playlist onto the Main Display.

  • Click “Play” — the URL will load, prompting you to log in.

3. Enter and Save Credentials

  • When the login screen appears, enter the credentials manually.

  • Most sites offer a “Remember Me” option — check this box to ensure login persists.

  • MAW Chrome Launcher will retain the session cookies for future use.

Tip: If the login requires additional verification steps (e.g., OTP or CAPTCHA), complete them during this setup phase.

4. Deploy to Remote Screens

  • Once logged in and credentials are saved, you can now assign the same playlist to additional screens.

  • Drag and drop the playlist to any target screen, and click “Play.”

  • The session should load without requiring login again, as MAWChrome Launcher preserves authentication cookies.
